Synagogue of Novozlatopil
Architect: unknown
Description: This was the principal choral synagogue serving the colonists of Novozlatopil. The synagogue was a large, monumental red-brick building, with a galvanised iron roof. In November 1929, the Soviet authorities closed the synagogue and repurposed it as a village club, after which it was remodelled and internally reconfigured. In 1943, the building was heavily damaged by shelling. During the post-war reconstruction, the ruined structure was rebuilt in forms characteristic of Stalinist Neoclassicism. In the first half of November 2023, the historic complex was destroyed by direct hits from heavy artillery shells and aerial bombs.
